This page is where you exercise your privacy rights. We extend every right listed here to everyone who asks, not only to residents of states that require it.
Opt out of sale or sharing
If you have asked us to match you with a telephone company, we pass your information to that company and we may be paid for it. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act that counts as a sale or share, so you can stop it.
To opt out, send us a message through the contact page with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share” and include the email address or telephone number you gave us, so we can find your record.
When you opt out we will:
- stop passing your information to telephone companies;
- add your email and telephone number to our suppression list;
- tell any company we have already passed your details to that you have opted out.
We do not need you to create an account to opt out, and we will not treat you differently for doing it.
One thing we cannot undo: if a company has already received your details and contacted you, your relationship with that company is between you and them. Ask them directly to delete your information and to place you on their do-not-call list.
Limit the use of sensitive information
Whether someone in your household participates in a programme such as Medicaid, SNAP, or SSI is sensitive personal information.
We only ever use it to work out whether you qualify and to match you with providers you asked to be matched with. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not disclose it for any purpose other than the match you requested.
If you would like us to stop using it entirely, ask through the contact page and we will delete it from your record.
Access, correct, or delete your information
You can ask us to:
- tell you what categories of information we hold, where it came from, why we have it, and who we shared it with;
- give you a copy of the specific pieces of information we hold;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete what we hold.
Send the request through the contact page. We will verify that the request really comes from you before acting on it — usually by replying to the email address on the record — and we will respond within the time the law allows.
You can use an authorised agent. We will ask for proof that you authorised them.
Stopping calls and texts
- Reply STOP to any text message to stop texts from that sender.
- Ask any caller to add you to their do-not-call list.
- Contact us and we will suppress your details on our side and pass the opt-out on.
What we never hold
It may help to know what is not in your record. We never collect Social Security numbers, benefit or case account numbers, full dates of birth, eligibility documents, or payment details. There is nothing of that kind for us to disclose or delete.
If you are not satisfied
Contact your state attorney general. California residents may also complain to the California Privacy Protection Agency.
